Joyce M. Gang, 80, of Norwood passed away Friday, Jan. 16, after a short battle with cancer. Joyce was born on September 29, 1934 in Potsdam. She attended Norfolk High School and was Valedictorian of the Class of 1952. She married Lee Gang in 1955 at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk. Joyce began work with the Oval Wood Dish Company before spending several years as a homemaker and raising her family. Eventually, she joined Clarkson University in the Maintenance Department, retiring in 1995. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Russell Oakes and Loretta Bond Oakes, her husband, Lee Gang, and her brother, Russell Alan Oakes. She is survived by her children: Deborah (Richard) Morgan, Deanna (Richard) Fenton, Donna (Douglas) Rondeau, and Lee (Rebecca) Gang, and her ten grandchildren: Aimee, Jason, Robert, Lydia, Justin, Jenna, Katherine, Emma, Hannah, and Megan. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US Hwy. 11, Potsdam; or to Potsdam Animal Shelter, 17 Madrid Ave., Potsdam.
