NORWOOD—A memorial mass for 86 year old Margaret G. LaPoint, a resident of the Issaquah Adult Family Home in Issaquah, Washington and formerly of Norwood, will be held Saturday, January 24th at 4 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. In the Spring, a private family service will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Norwood, NY. Mrs. LaPoint passed away early Wednesday morning at the Issaquah Adult Family Home. Margaret is survived by two sons, Allen and wife Hsiu Bi LaPoint, Mill Creek, WA; Gary and wife Christine LaPoint, Waddington; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Richard (Linda Johnston) LaPoint, Plymouth, NH; her two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Debra) Smith, Marietta, OH; Mrs. David (Marcia) Campbell, Redmond, WA; her eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and her sister Alberta (LaDue) Pierce. Margaret was pre-deceased by her husband, Donald W. LaPoint on May 7, 1983, a son Richard David LaPoint on November 18, 2011 and grandson Richard Donald LaPoint, July 30, 2007. Born in Norfolk, NY on February 16, 1928 to the late Floyd and Mary Brothers, she married Donald William LaPoint on December 18, 1946. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, baking and was devoted to her family. She will forever be remembered for her kind and gentle ways.
