UNIONVILLE-- Graveside services for 96 year old Elsa (Alice) P. Gagnon, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena and formerly of Unionville will be held privately at the Calvary Cemetery in Norwood. Mrs. Gagnon passed away Thursday afternoon at the St. Regis Nursing Home. Born in Norfolk, NY on November 9, 1917 to the late John and Julia Bonn Phillips, whom were Hungarian immigrants, she married Thomas Gagnon in Perry, FL on April 22, 1944 where Tom was stationed in the Air Corp during WWII. She worked for Montgomery Wards for 27 years as an office and inventory manager. Elsa loved her flowers and dogs and enjoyed playing cards and spending her summers on Norwood Pond.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews and some very dear friends, Mike and Carline Moulton, Gary and Mary Ellen Hooper and Bob Matthews. She was pre-deceased by her two brothers, John and Joseph Phillips and her five sisters, Anne Gagnon, Julia Yolton, Eleanor Farnsworth, Mary Young and Hilda Jarvis. NORWOOD-- Graveside services for 96 year old Elsa P. Gagnon, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of Unionville, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Calvary Cemetery in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Mrs. Gagnon passed away on September 4, 2014. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood.
