NORFOLK—Funeral services for 81 year old Shirley B. Baker, 685 Plumbrook Road, Norfolk, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mrs. Baker passed away late Tuesday evening at home. Shirley is survived by her five daughters, Christine Ayotte, Norfolk; Sally and George Blair, Norfolk; Mary and Martin Blair, Norwood; Anna Baker, Norfolk and Vickie and Hale Brown, Easton, PA. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, Carrie, Jimmy, Tara, Joseph, Michael, David, Jody, TJ, Francis, Craig, Celena, Vanessa, Glenn, Michael and Amanda and her beloved 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Shirley was pre-deceased by her brothers Howard, Frank, Leo, Amos, Raymond, Ransom and her sisters Elizabeth LaBaff, Rosella LaBaff, Pricilla St. Hilare, Agnes LaBaff and Viola LaBaff. Born in Norfolk on October 3, 1932 to the late Henry and Agnes Martin LaBaff, Shirley married Stewart Baker on November 18, 1950. He passed away on August 28, 1967. Shirley worked for various companies , including the Highland Nursing Home, Norfolk Paper Mill, Gravelle’s Drycleaners and the Potsdam Nursing Home. She was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and the North Country Fiddlers. She enjoyed crocheting, gambling, playing cards and attending bingo, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and dancing.
