Obituary of Blanch B. Watson

RENSSELAER FALLS—Funeral services for 84 year old Blanch B. Watson, a resident of 197 East Kelly Road, Rensselaer Falls, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Colton with Rev. Msgr. Robert Aucoin presiding. Burial will be held in the Chapel Hill Cemetery, Parishville. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Mrs. Watson passed away Sunday afternoon at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Blanch is survived by her sons, George Watson, Lowville; Frederick and Deborah Watson, St. Augustine, FL and Alexander and Ronda Watson, Russell; her daughters Theresa Watson, Potsdam; Elizabeth Antwine, Newtown Falls; Edith Watson, Northfield, VT; Schelene and Glenn Dibble, Rensselaer Falls and Alice and Ronald Sokolowski, Hermon. Blanch is also survived by twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, her brothers Lawrence Chase, South Colton; Marlow and Connie Chase, Pyrites; Marcelle and Sharon Chase, Syracuse and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was pre-deceased by two sons, William and Donald Watson, a daughter, Mary Jane Watson, a brother, Sanford Chase and a sister Pauline Holman. Born in Pierrepont on April 19, 1930 to the late Charles Buffalo and Alice Irish Chase, she married George J. Watson on January 3, 1948. Blanch was a homemaker, but also worked for the Fullerbrush Company, the Edwards Nutrition Center and volunteered her time for twenty plus years driving for the Department of Social Services. She was a communicant of St. Raymond’s Church in Heuvelton and was very active throughout her life. She was a former member of the Pyrites Altar and Rosary Society and the Pyrites Ladies Auxiliary. Also, she was past Troop Leader for the Edwards Cub Scouts and Webelo’s, she was a past member of the St. Lawrence County Board of Legislatures and a past member of the CDP Board in Canton. During her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, birdwatching, crafting, tending to her flowers and garden and dancing to her country and western music.
