NORFOLK– Graveside services for 76 year old Frank M. Arquitt Sr., of 101 Sumter Drive, Havelock, N.C., and formerly of Norfolk and Raymondville, will be held Wednesday September 24 in Louisville Cemetery at 3 pm with Malcom Starks presiding. Mr. Arquitt passed away on the 18th at Craven Regional Medical Center in North Carolina. Survivors– Sons– Randy and Connie, Havelock, NC; Frank Jr.and Lila, Evans Mills; Kevin, South Carolina; Michael and Janet, Raymondville; Daughter– Mrs. Brian Brenda Burke, Madrid; 11 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren; his ex-wife, Doris Smith Perkins, Massena; Brother– Gordon and Dorothy, Norwood; Sisters– Pearl Brothers, Norfolk; Jane Dowe, Massena; Mrs. Edwin Ethel Chapman, Dekalb Jct. He was pre-deceased by Brothers Simeon, Elihu, Ellis, Earle, Carl and his sister Carol Baxter. Born in Norfolk on February 18, 1932 to Hemon and Winnie Ellis Arquette, he graduated from Norfolk High School in 1950. He married Doris Smith Perkins on Oct. 2, 1954. The marriage ended in Divorce. He worked for General Motors Powertrain in Massena as a hot metal tender, retiring in 1980. He also worked for the St. Lawrence Seaway, building the Snell and Eisenhower locks. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #0786, Philadelphia, a lifetime member of the American Legion, a UAW Veteran, and a past member of the Norfolk Fire Dept. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1953. Memorial Donations can be made to the American Heart Assoc.
