POTSDAM Funeral services for 86 year old Gwendolyn Marion White, a resident of Potsdam, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Foxwood Mausoleum in Ogdensburg, with Rev. Martin Bovee presiding. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Thursday from 4-7p.m. Mrs. White passed away Tuesday evening at her daughters home in Colton.
Gwendolyn is survived by her son, Mark and Maureen White, Fredericksburg, VA; her daughters, Tracy and Roy Wilson, Colton and Laurie and Lee Charity, Quincy, IL. Gwendolyn is also survived by her grandchildren, Christina, Daniel, Ryan, Sean, Joseph, Danielle, Trish, Christopher and Nicole, and her 13 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her sister Ernestine Archambeau.
Born in Carthage, on September 26, 1927 to the late Burton E. and Vivian Weber Garnsey, Gwendolyn married Gene C. White on October 9, 1948. Gene passed away January 6, 2001. Gwendolyn was a Registered Nurse, working at Canton Potsdam Hospital and at Lewis County General Hospital. She enjoyed reading and politics. Memorial Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Palliative Care, the Potsdam Fire Department or the Potsdam Rescue Squad.
