Obituary of Barbara A. Edgerly

NORFOLK—Funeral services for 83 year old Barbara A. Edgerly, will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk, with Pastor Martha Helmer presiding. Burial will be held in the Bixby Cemetery, Norfolk, following the cemetery. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Barbara passed away Monday at Massena Memorial Hospital. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Greg and Patricia Palmer, Falconer; Mrs. Steve and Debra Peters, Russell; Mrs. Michael and Wendy Ryan, Norfolk; her brothers Ronald and Fran Whitmore, Cordova TN; Richard and Amy Whitmore, Phoenix, AZ; her sister, Sue and Eugene Dolce, Watertown; her 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Keith L. Edgerly in March of 1991; her daughter, Sandra Tulga and her brother John Whitmore. Born in Gouverneur on August 4, 1930 to the late John and Mavis LeVack Whitmore, Barbara married Keith L. Edgerly on October 6, 1950. She was a homemaker. Barbara was a communicant of the Raymondville Methodist Church, a member of Eastern Star, and a board member of Sandy’s Steps to edge out ALS. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading and gardening.
