Obituary of Glenn A. McDonald

NORWOOD—Funeral services for 86 year old Glenn A. McDonald, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home, Massena and formerly of Norwood, will be held Tuesday December 31, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rod Cota and John McDonald presiding. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Tuesday from 10 – 12 and 1 – 3 p.m. Burial will be held in the Flackville Cemetery. Mr. McDonald passed away Saturday evening at the St. Regis Nursing Home. Glenn is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sylvia, Norwood; a son, John and Cherl McDonald, Forest Dale, VT; a daughter, Patsy and Roderick Cota, Norwood; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Dale McDonald, Canton. Glenn was pre-deceased by his brothers Robert, Otis and Donald and his sisters, Alice Rivers, Doris Christian and Eva Bushey. Born in Canton, NY on November 16, 1927 to the late Archie and Elizabeth Robinson McDonald, he married Sylvia J. Robinson on December 20, 1949. Glenn worked for Kriff's Furniture in Potsdam installing carpet, retiring after 29 years. Glenn was a communicant of the Brookdale Wesleyan Church and a member of the Golden Agers and he was active with the Norwood Museum. Memorial Donations can be made to the Potsdam Humane Society.
