PIERREPONTGraveside Services will be held in the spring for 94 year old Robert D. Weegar, of 1222 Green Road, Colton, with Rev. Tom Chappell presiding. Mr. Weegar passed away Thursday afternoon at his home.
Robert is survived by his two daughters, Thomas and Amy Green, Colton, and Cindy Bird, DeRuyter, NY; his nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Robert was pre-deceased by his wife Vivian, his sons Steven and Gordon Weegar, and his brother Richard Weegar.
Born in Potsdam, NY on May 16, 1919 to the late Hermon and Lena Cummins Weegar. He served in the Army during WWII and the Battle of the Bulge. Robert was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He married Vivian M. Wood on July 2, 1940. Vivian passed away in 2000. Robert was a switch board operator at Alcoa for 32 years. He was a past member of the Parishville Fire Department, and the Cold Springs Hunting Club. Memories and Condolences can be shared online at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
