SOUTH COLTONFuneral services for 103 year old Allie E. Harden, a resident of the Maplewood Campus, Canton and formerly of South Colton, will be held Saturday (November 30, 2013) at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Ed Wright presiding. Burial will be held in the South Colton Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the funeral. Mrs. Harden passed away early Thanksgiving morning at Maplewood.
Allie is survived by her daughter, Kathleen E. Kelly, Canton; one grandchild, Barbara and Thomas Sangiacomo, Fairport, NY; two great-grandchildren, David Sangiacomo, NYC; Gina Sangiacomo, Fairport, NY and several nieces and nephews. Allie was pre-deceased by her husbands Lawrence Perkins in 1972 and Claude Harden in 2003. She was also pre-deceased by her granddaughter Lori Kelly and her brothers, Paul, Earl, Charles, James, Ted and just recently, Elmer Fisher and her sisters, Helen Campbell, Rachel Mullen and Dorothy VanOpdurp.
Born in South Colton on January 6, 1910 to the late Edward and Sarah Partridge Fisher, Allie worked as an LPN at the Rockland State Hospital. Allie also worked in a shirt factory in Troy, NY for several years during WWII. In her later years, Allie worked as a Home Health Aide, giving care for many families. Allie was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the South Colton Community Church. She loved the outdoors, she enjoyed hunting for birds and fishing in her earlier years and watching the deer and turkeys in her later years. But most of all, she was family oriented, enjoying the time she spent with them. Memorial Donations in Allies memory can be made to the South Colton Volunteer Rescue Squad.
