Obituary of Jean D. Cotey

NORWOOD—Funeral services for 84 year old Jean D. Cotey, 34 Spring Street, Norwood, will be held Wednesday October 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Norwood with Rev. Walter Smith presiding. Burial will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Family and friends may call at the Congregational Church in Norwood on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Mrs. Cotey passed away Thursday morning at the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena. Jean is survived by her husband of 64 years James Cotey, Norwood, her three sons, Charles & Ann Cotey, John & Sharon Cotey and Michael Cotey, all of Norwood; her two daughters, Sharon Hicks & companion Mike Germano, Norwood and Melanie & Mathew Morgan, Canton and her nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Keith & Sharon Dunn, Leo, Indiana and her sisters Vada Dunham, Waddington and Marjorie Fisher, Madrid. She was pre deceased by her daughter Lynda Marie, a brother Frederick Dunn and her sister Helen Cressey. Born in Canton on April 5, 1929 to the late Charles and Marjorie Connor Dunn. Jean married James Cotey on June 11, 1949. Jean was a homemaker and she was a member of the First Congregational Church of Norwood, the Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Norwood Senior Citizens Golden Agers. Jean enjoyed playing bridge, chair caning, knitting, cross country skiing and walking. Memorial donations can be made to the First Congregational Church in Norwood or to the Eastern Star.
