COLTON— Graveside services for 74 year old Ronald J. Smith, a resident of the St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena and formerly of 119 Wildwood Road, Colton, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton. Mr. Smith passed away early Saturday morning at the nursing home in Massena. Ronald is survived by his wife, Betty Ann, Parishville; three sons; Gordon and Peggy Smith, Florida; Charles and Kristin Smith, Ohio; Gerald Smith, Colton; his four daughters; Evangeline and Phillip Grillo, Missouri; Valerie and Jason Ellis, Michigan; Sharon and Benjamin Ziegler, Oil City, PA; Lenita and Cory Jenks, Colton; his 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Ronald was pre-deceased by an infant sister. Born in Malone, NY on May 14, 1939 to the late Gordon and Ethel Meacham Smith, he married Betty Ann Durham on August 8, 1959. He was a self-employed carpenter and he served as a missionary in Papua New-Guiney for 10 years. He enjoyed going fishing and hiking and he loved playing with his dogs.
