SOUTH COLTON– Funeral Services for 89 year old Theodore I. “Ted” Fisher, of 10 Windmill Road, South Colton, will be held Saturday at 11 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Graham Pierce, a brother-in-law, presiding. Burial will take place in South Colton Cemetery at a later date. Calling Hours will be held Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton. Mr. Fisher passed away Tuesday evening at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Survivors– Wife– Nancy H. Fisher, South Colton; Son– Theodore II and Sheila, Henrietta, NY; Step-Daughter– Mrs. Carlos Belinda Vidinha, Hudson, Ohio; 4 Grandchildren– Theodore III and Gayle Fisher, and Leon and Dawn Fisher, both of Naples, NY; Dennis and Christine Fisher, Williamson, NY; and Mrs. Carol Stephen Burley, of Rochester; 13 Great-Grandchildren; Brother– Elmer Fisher, South Colton; Sister– Allie Harden, South Colton; 24 Nieces and Nephews. He was pre-deceased by his Brothers– Paul, Earl, Charles, James and Sisters– Helen Campbell, Rachel Mullen, and Dorothy VanUpdurp. Born in South Colton on March 16, 1919 to Edward and Sarah Partridge Fisher, he was married to Winifred Mae Fisher. She passed away in 1967. He later married Nancy Hunter on August 13, 1981. As a member of the U.S. Army during WWII, he served in the European Theater and received two purple hearts for wounds sustained during combat in France while serving under General Patton. Following the War, he was employed as office manager and paymaster for several area construction companies until forced to retire as a result of service connected disabilities. He was interested in local affairs, served two terms on the Town Board of Colton, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Fisher is know for his keen sense of humor and love of a good practical joke. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the South Colton Cemetery Assoc.
