COLTONFuneral services with military honors for 82 year old George C. Drasney, 136 County Rt. 58, Colton, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Robert Schirmer presiding. Burial will be held in the Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mr. Drasney passed away Friday afternoon at his home.
George is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ofelia; his two sons, Manny and Joan Drasney, Bell View, Nebraska; Anthony Drasney, Dover, New Hampshire and two grandchildren.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 28, 1931 to the late Maximillion and Gunborg Gustafson Drasney, he earned his bachelors degree from Clarkson University. He married Ofelia Ruperto on March 22, 1969. George was a department manager for FCIA (Foreign Credit Insurance Association). He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Massena and was an avid Clarkson Hockey fan and enjoyed history, music, electronics and all his little gadgets.
