Obituary of Nazarine J. Bellardini

NORWOOD—A Mass of Christian Burial for 85 year old Nazarine J. Bellardini, 645 River Road, Norwood, will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mr. Bellardini passed away peacefully at his home Saturday April 20, 2013 under the care of Hospice and his family. Nazarine is survived by his son, Mark and Elizabeth Bellardini, Norwood; his two daughters, Mrs. Walter “Butch” Sharman Smutz Jr., Potsdam and Mrs. David Drucille Bellardini Wellings, Norwood; his six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Carmela Bellardini, Potsdam. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Caroline, his two brothers, Carmen and Vincent and his sisters Lucia Tuthill and Yolanda Bellardini. Born in Ogdensburg on June 10, 1927 to the late Magno and Julia Morgia Bellardini, he served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1948. He married Caroline Procida on September 23, 1950. After being discharged from the service, Nazarine worked for 7up Bottling Company out of Utica. In 1957, Nazarine started working in the mailroom at SUNY Potsdam and worked his way up to plant superintendent for the Heating, Ventilation and Refrigeration Department. He retired from SUNY Potsdam in 1980. Mr. Bellardini was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church and was a member of the Potsdam Elks Lodge, the Potsdam VFW, the Norwood American Legion and the Norwood Knights of Columbus. Nazarine was a loving Husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be deeply missed. He was a family man and also enjoyed hunting.
