COLTONA prayer services for 55 year old Billy J. Planty, 49 Wildwood Road, Colton, will be held Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Donald Manfred presiding. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Mr. Planty passed away Wednesday evening at the Fletcher-Allen Medical Center in Burlington, VT.
Billy is survived by his wife, Michele, Colton; his two sons, Billy Jr. and Jessica, Winthrop; Matthew and Heather, Colton; his daughter, Stacey and Scott Coleman, Colton; five grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Grace Hawley, Colton, his brothers, Gary and Jennifer, Potsdam; Wayne and Sharon, Potsdam; Arthur and Bonnie, Raymondville; Carl and Gloria, Madrid; Eddie and Ellen, Potsdam and his three sisters, Debra Peck and her companion, Carl Baxter, Potsdam; Sheila and Percy Vallance and Linda and Erwin Zahler, both of Hopkinton.
Born in Potsdam on July 12, 1957 to the late Arthur and Alberta Weller Planty, Billy married Michele Hawley on January 28, 1983. Previously, Billy worked at the Mayfield Apartment Complex in Potsdam for 32 years as a Custodian and maintenance person. Billy had a love of the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and four-wheeling. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
