NORFOLKFuneral services for 90 year old Helen J. Richards, a resident of 50 High Street, Norfolk, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk. Burial will be held in the Hale Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mrs. Richards passed away early Tuesday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Helen is survived by her sons John and Bonnie Richards, Norfolk; Timothy and Marsha Richards, Louisville; her three daughters, Joanne LaBarre, Norfolk; Margo Vivlamore, Norfolk and Robin and Steacy Johnson, Philadelphia, NY; her nine grandchildren, Jonathan Richards, Jennifer Richards, Andre LaBarre, Lucca Richards, Piper Dubray, Eric Vivlamore, Curt Richards, Darin Richards, Daniel Johnson; her four great-grandchildren and her sister, Joanne Graviak, Greensburg, PA. Helen was pre-deceased by her husband, a son Mark Richards, her brothers, Paul, George, Joe, Michael and her sisters, Julie, Mary, Annie, Kathryn, Elizabeth and Maggie.
Born in McDonald, PA on September 24, 1922 to the late Michael and Kathryn Machusko Simko, she married Henry T. Richards. Henry passed away on July 13, 1990. Helen was a homemaker and previously worked for Allied Chemical in Solvay, NY. Helen loved cooking and baking and enjoyed teaching the grandkids how to cook and bake as well. She also enjoyed reading, tending to her garden and she often wrote poetry, in which some was published. Helen loved spending time with her family. Helen was a member of the Jehovahs Witnesses.
