COLTON—Funeral services for 75 year old Elizabeth “Betty” G. Wright, 5376 State Highway 56, Colton, will be held Thursday at 10 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton with Rev. Richard Will presiding. Burial will be held in the Pleasant Mound Cemetery, Colton. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mrs. Wright passed away Sunday morning at the Fletcher-Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, VT. Betty is survived by her husband of 59 years, Arnold, Potsdam; her two sons, Timothy Wright, Potsdam and Marshall and Laurie Wright, Colton; her daughter Nancy and John Bushaw, Canton; two grandchildren, Lezlie Gray and Joshua Bushaw and her great-granddaughter, Bailey Bushaw. Betty is also survived by her brother Richard and Susan Butterfield, Potsdam and her sisters Linda Hayes, Norwood; Marie MacDonald, Potsdam and Joyce (David) Russell, Massena and several nieces and nephews. Betty was pre-deceased by her grandson, Matthew Wright; her brothers Charles and Everett Butterfield and her sisters Dorothy Randall and Shirley Nelson. Born on the Potter Road in Crary Mills on July 8, 1936 to the late Lawrence and Margaret Gary Butterfield, she married Arnold F. Wright on April 11, 1953. Betty was a homemaker who devoted her time to her family and took time to listen to people as they spoke. She was a very humble person who enjoyed the simple things in life. Betty was “The foundation of her home”. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Colton for many years and was one of the first settlers of Route 56, also as known as “Sandy Flats”.
