NORFOLK—Graveside services for 74 year old Henry A. Wilson, 267 O’Brien Road, Norfolk, will be held Saturday at 9 am at the Visitation Cemetery in Norfolk with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Mr. Wilson passed away Wednesday evening at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Henry is survived by his fiancé, Elaine Woods Smith; his three sons, Henry “Mike” and Penny, Norfolk; Philip and Michele, Glens Falls; Douglas and Jane, Ticonderoga; his ten grandchildren; Philip Jr., Erica, Jeremy, Joshua, Victoria, Alexandra, Doug, and Scott Skeels, Ryan Skeels and Christopher Skeels of whom he raised. He has several great-grandchildren and a brother Charles and Susan Wilson, Stroudsburg, PA. He was pre-deceased by a daughter Diane Skeels. Born in Cambridge, NY on April 17, 1938 to Lionel A. and Thelma Gifford Wilson, he married Carole Darius on September 26, 1958 and Kathleen Regan on June 28, 1986. Both Carole and Kathleen pre-deceased Henry. He worked as a correctional officer for the NYS Department of Corrections for 28 years, retiring in 1993. He was a lifelong farmer, who enjoyed his Alpaca’s, collecting and restoring antique tractors and was an avid toy collector. Henry was an avid Atlanta Braves and NY Giants fan. Memorial Donations can be made to the Norfolk Rescue Squad or to the Henry A. Wilson Memorial Scholarship, Washington County Cooperative Extension, 415 Lower Main Street, Hudson Falls, NY 12839.
