Obituary of Vivian R. Tyo

NORFOLK—Funeral services for 89 year old Vivian R. Tyo, a resident at the Whiteford Home in Russell and formerly of Norfolk, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Norfolk United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Wheat presiding. A spring burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk, in the spring. There will be no calling hours. Vivian passed away peacefully at the Whiteford Adult Home in Russell Monday morning. Vivian is survived by a brother, Wendell Packard, Camp Springs, MD and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by three sisters, Iyonne Hunter, Frances Emlaw and Barbara Packard and her brother Ivan Packard. Born in Norfolk on April 8, 1922 to the late Leland and Myra Russell Packard, she married Wayne Tyo on November 24, 1945. He passed away on April 12, 1995. Vivian worked for the St. Lawrence Railroad and then worked as a Teller and Data Processor for the First National Bank of Norfolk. She was a member of the Norfolk United Methodist Church, was treasurer of the United Methodist Women and a member of the choir for a number of years.
