MADRIDThere will be no calling hours or funeral services for 89 year old Anna S. Kirkey, a resident of the Maplewood Campus in Canton, and formerly of Madrid, NY. Mrs. Kirkey passed away Saturday evening at Maplewood in Canton. Anna is survived by a son, Roger Kirkey, Chesapeake City, Maryland; two sisters, Leila Murray, Raymondville and Vera Nichols, Ogdensburg and several nieces and nephews. Anna was pre-deceased by her three brothers, Wilson, Stanley and Franklin Salton and a sister Joy Caratsole.
Born in Lisbon on December 20, 1921 to the late Homer and Edith Wilson Salton, she was a self-employed beautician. She owned and operated Annas Beauty Shop in Madrid for over forty years. A marriage to Earl Kirkey ended in divorce. She was a member of the United Church of Madrid. Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
