NORFOLK-- Funeral services for 63 year old James D. “Donnie” Bishop, 13 Wheeler Lane, Norfolk, will be held Thursday at 6 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Thursday from 3 pm until the time of the funeral at 6 pm. Mr. Bishop passed away Tuesday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. James is survived by his wife, Victoria, Norfolk; a son Edward and Theresa Bishop, Bulls Gap, VA; two daughters, Kimberly and her companion, Kevin Carpenter, Carthage and Jeannette Liberty, Vermont. James is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and his brother, Edward and Bonnie Bishop, Syracuse. Born in Rogers, Tennessee on April 2, 1948 to the late J.D. and Maudie Wyman Bishop, he married Victoria Phillips on May 18, 1974. He worked in Deferiet, NY at the Deferiet Paper Mill, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Norwood What Cheer Masonic Lodge, the Norfolk American Legion and was involved in sports in the area. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Memorial donations can be made to the Norwood What Cheer Lodge. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.buckfuneralhome.com .
