NORWOODFuneral services for 92 year old Lillian L. Brothers, 101 Porter-Lynch Road, Norwood, will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mrs. Brothers passed away Monday afternoon.
Lillian is survived by five sons, Thomas and Sallie Brothers, Norfolk; Phillip and Lynn Brothers, Madrid; Michael and Joan Brothers, Norwood; Richard and Cynthia Brothers, Norwood; Edward Brothers, Raleigh, NC; a daughter, Cindy Hake, New Castle, PA; nineteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Lillian is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Esther Brothers and son-in-law, Richard Andrews, Winthrop. Lillian was pre-deceased by her husband, Alfred, a son Francis Brothers, a daughter Sylvia Andrews, a grandson Scott, a great-granddaughter Claire Ann, her two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Thomas and her sister Marjorie Fey.
Born in Norfolk on December 15, 1918 to the late James and Lucy Nichols Thomas, she married Alfred Brothers on January 22, 1941. He passed away on August 25, 1988. She worked as a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a life member of the Norfolk American Legion. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley.
