POTSDAMFuneral services with military honors for 85 year old Arnold G. Hall, 1359 County Route 34, Potsdam, will be held Friday July 8 at 10 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Burial will be held in St. Marys Cemetery, Potsdam. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Thursday from 4-7 pm. Mr. Hall passed away Thursday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Arnold is survived by his wife of sixty years, Verna, Potsdam; one son, Terry and Lynne Hall, Waddington; his three daughters, Diane and Thomas Stone, Potsdam; Debbie and John Crutcher, Katy, Texas and Bonnie Edwards, also of Katy, Texas. Arnold is also survived by his eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his five sisters, Jane Puttkamer, June and Ed Allen, Helen and Kenneth Warner, Betty Stark and Doris Love. Arnold was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Richard and Donald.
Born in Syracuse on June 20, 1926 to the late Harold and Corinne Rowley Hall, he married Verna I. Guyette on September 25, 1950. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII. Arnold was a self-employed Interior Decorator, painter and wallpaperer for many years in the Potsdam and Canton areas. Arnold enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and most of all, spending time with his family and friends. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley or to the Richard E. Winters Cancer Treatment Center in Ogdensburg.
