Obituary of Ann Sawyer

POTSDAM—Graveside services for 73 year old Ann Sawyer, Potsdam, will be held Monday at 3 pm in Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam with Rev. Andrew Amyot presiding. There will be no public calling hours. Mrs. Sawyer passed away Friday at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Mrs. Sawyer is survived by her companion, Glendon Cutway, Potsdam; her three sons, Thomas and her grandson Kyle, Norwood; Jon J., Norwood and Michael and his companion, Barb Kristoffersen, Potsdam, ten grandchildren and one great-grandson. Ann is also survived by her brother, Jon and Kathleen Lakins, Lakeland, FL; her two sisters, Kay and Walter McLennan, Potsdam and Carol and John Sweeney, Lakeland, FL and several nieces and nephews. Born in Potsdam on April 15, 1938 to the late Garnet P. and Lillian LaRue Lakins, she graduated from Potsdam High School in 1956. She married the late Cecil (Joe) Sawyer on June 30, 1956. Joe passed away in 1985. Ann worked at the J.C. Penney store in Potsdam and Massena. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Lyra Chapter, and was an avid N.Y.
