WinthropPrivate Funeral services for Ralph J. Prevost, 85, of 237 McIntyre Road Winthrop, will be held Friday at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood. Mr. Prevost passed away Tuesday afternoon at his home.
Mr. Prevost is survived by his son, Wayne Santimeau, British Columbia, Canada, his daughter Frieda and George Fisher, Colton, his son-in-law Ray Thompson, Winthrop and his sister, Jacqueline Horn, Massena. He has 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mr. Prevost was pre-deceased by his sons, Danforth and Thomas Peacock, his daughter Ellen Thompson, and his sister Mary Sheets.
Born in Massena on May 6, 1925 to Ralph W. and Mable Fregeo Prevost. He was in the NAVY from 1943 until 1945. He married Veronica Barney on July 1, 1952, she passed away on November 8, 2003. He was a self- employed roofer, and worked at SUNY Potsdam for 20 years as a painter. He was a past member of the Potsdam VFW. He enjoyed collecting things, traveling and liked ice skating.
