NORWOODFuneral services for 75 year old Ruth M. Murcray of the Maplewood Campus, Canton, and formerly of Norwood, will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Lee Sweeney presiding. Burial will be held in the Brookdale Cemetery, Brookdale. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mrs. Murcray passed away early Monday morning at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Mrs. Murcray is survived by her two sons, Edward N. Murcray Jr., Norwood and Michael D. Murcray, Johnstown, NY and her four daughters, Lynn (Lloyd) Howe, Hannawa Falls; Vicky Murcray, Lewis, NY; Marie (Stanley) Scheening, Norwood and Sheryl (John) Ceresoli, Hammond. Mrs. Murcray is also survived by her eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Deborah Egolf , her grandson, Lloyd Howe III and her two sisters, Betty Wolstenholm and Bernice Bunny Schafer.
Born in Potsdam on May 9, 1936 to the late Earl and Bertha Burcume Hennigan, she married Edward N. Murcray Sr. on November 18, 1955. Edward passed away on October 19, 2009. Ruth worked as a van driver for the Norwood ARC, for PACES in Potsdam and for the Grey-Hound bus terminal in Potsdam. She was a communicant of the Knapps Station Community Church.
