Obituary of Doris E. Laramay

NORWOOD—Funeral services for 77 year old Doris E. Laramay, 43 North Main Street, Norwood, will be held Monday at 10 am at St. Andrew’s Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. A spring burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mrs. Laramay passed away Thursday morning at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. Mrs. Laramay is survived by her husband, Jerry, Norwood; two sons, Jerry E. and Marcella Laramay, Louisville; Stephen and Christy Laramay, Tampa, FL; her two daughters, Vikki and Robert Dixson, Norwood and Sue and Doug Murray, Norwood. Doris is also survived by her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Kenneth Spencer, Stockholm and her sister, Shirley Pommerville, Oswegatchie and many nieces and nephews. Born in Norwood on October 29, 1933 to the late Frank and Mary Cuthbert Spencer, Doris married Jerry H. Laramay on February 6, 1954. She worked at the Potsdam Nursing Home as a LPN, retiring in 1991 and prior, worked at ALCOA in Massena. She was a member of the Norwood American Legion Auxiliary. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and loved that all of her great-grandchildren called her Gigi. Doris loved to fish and enjoyed taking rides, looking for and watching deer.
