Obituary of Mark W. Richards

NORFOLK—Funeral services for 59 year old Mark W. Richards, 14 East View Heights, Norfolk, will be held Tuesday at 1 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Burial will be held in Hale Cemetery, Norfolk. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mr. Richards passed away Friday evening. Mr. Richards is survived by his wife, Ellen, Norfolk; his two sons, Darin and his fiancé Jessica Furnace, Louisville and Curt Richards, Michigan; a daughter, Jessica and Brent Murray, Norfolk, his mother, Helen Richards, Norfolk; two grandchildren, Rayne Richards and Brilynn Murray; his two brothers, John L. and Bonnie Richards, Norfolk and Timothy R. and Marsha Richards, Louisville and his three sisters, Joanne LaBarre and Margo Vivlamore, both of Norfolk and Robin and Steacy Johnson, Philadelphia, NY and several nieces and nephews. Born in Syracuse, NY on July 10, 1951 to Henry T. and Helen J. Simko Richards, a marriage to Sandra Pike ended in divorce. He later married Ellen L. Sherman on August 5, 2000. He worked as a millwright for General Motors in Massena and retired after 36 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was a member of the Norfolk American Legion and was a past Little League Coach. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and was an avid Syracuse University Basketball fan.
