NORWOODFuneral services for 69 year old Philip D. Paro, 1 Maple Street, Norwood, will be held Saturday at 10 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. A spring burial will be held in Bayside Cemetery, Canton. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mr. Paro passed away Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. Paro is survived by his wife, Wanda, Norwood; his step-son, Donald and Angeline Hoyt, Norwood; two step-grandchildren, Jessica and Brent Murray and Eva Hoyt and a step great-grandchild Brilynn Murray. Mr. Paro is also survived by his brother, Paul and Betty Paro, Massena. Mr. Paro was pre-deceased by his sister Phyllis LaBrake.
Born in Potsdam on September 26, 1941 to the late Paul F. and Delia Deon Paro Sr., he worked for the Village of Potsdam and then worked at SUNY Potsdam for 37 years in kitchen services. He was a member of the Norwood Fire Department for 13 years, the St. Lawrence County Fire Police and the NYS Fire Police Association. He was a past member of the Potsdam Fire Department.
