Norwood-Funeral arrangements for 86 year old Margaret M. Oakes of 6 Pine Street Norwood will be held Friday 11am at St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Norwood with Deacon Margaret Theodore, presiding. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Norwood. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood, Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Mrs. Oakes died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter Hattie LaBaff in Norfolk.
Surviving: Daughters; Mrs. Wayne Betty LePage; Norfolk, and Ms. Hattie LaBaff; Norfolk. Grandchildren; Philip Oakes, Candy Welcher, and Wayne LaPage Jr. Eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Born in Yaleville on June 23, 1922, daughter of William and Elizabeth Connelly Forrest. She married Clifford oakes on July 4, 1942, he died on July 24, 1991.
Mrs. Oakes was a homemaker.
