NORWOODFuneral services for 68 year old Francis A. Brothers Sr., 145 Porter-Lynch Road, Norwood, will be held Saturday at 10 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow presiding. Burial will be held in the Hale Cemetery, Norfolk. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mr. Brothers passed away Wednesday morning at his home surrounded by his family.
Francis is survived by his wife Esther, Norwood; his four sons, Alfred and Melissa , Dillingham, Alaska; Francis Jr., Norwood and companion Nannette Planty; James and fiancé Karen Sicard, Brasher; Thomas, Norwood; his daughter Cora Brothers and fiancé Corey Sturgen, Moira; and Anna Mae Miller, Dillingham, Alaska. Francis has twelve grandchildren. Francis is also survived by his mother Lillian Brothers, Winthrop; his five brothers, Thomas and Sallie Brothers, Norfolk; Phillip and Lynn Brothers, Norwood; Michael and Joan Brothers, Norwood; Richard and Cynthia Brothers, Norwood; Edward Tim Brothers, Raleigh, NC; and his sisters Cynthia Hake, Newcastle, PA and Mrs. Richard Syliva Andrews, Winthrop.
Born in Potsdam on August 2, 1942 to Alfred and Lillian Thomas Brothers, he married Esther A. Hiratsuka on Sept. 30, 1967. He worked as a self-employed logger. He enjoyed going to the races at Frogtown Speedway and was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying working in the woods, camping with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.
