Obituary of Florence M. Cole

COLTON—Funeral services for 80 year old Florence M. Cole, 5048 State Highway 56, Colton, will be held Tuesday at St. Patrick’s Church in Colton at 2 pm with Rev. Bryan Stitt, pastor, presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Colton. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton. Mrs. Cole passed away early Saturday morning at her home. Florence is survived by her five sons, Vernon “Spike” Jr, Colton; Duane and Christine, Colton; Jeffrey and Grace, Zephyrhills, Fl.; Kevin and Paula, Colton; Darrell and Jennifer, Colton; one daughter, Mrs. Sandra Spoon, Rome, NY; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers George Fisher, Colton; Frank Fisher, South Colton and a sister Dorothy Fisher, Potsdam. She was pre-deceased by a brother Floyd Fisher and her sisters Lorraine Litten and Barbara Todd. Born in South Colton on October 21, 1929 to the late Paul and Vanelia Loucks Fisher, she married Vernon Cole Sr. on September 9, 1948. He passed away in 1999. She worked as a nurses aid at United Helpers in Canton. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Colton Senior Citizens. Florence enjoyed crotcheting, cooking and spending time with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley or to the Colton Rescue Squad.
