NORWOODThere will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time for 80 year old Richard J. Barter, of 150 Hawthorne Avenue, Buffalo, New York. Mr. Barter died early Monday morning at the home of his daughter Jacqueline Richard of 252 County Rt. 48, Norwood, New York. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood.
Surviving are two daughters; Jacqueline and Robert Richard; Norwood and Denise & Harry Styliades ; Grand Island, NY, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, one brother, Brad Barter of Leon ,New York and one sister , Beverley of Florida. He was pre-deceased by his wife in January of 2010 and a brother Robert.
Born in Dexter, New York, son of Robert and Grace Hutchinson Barter, he married the late Susan A. Klein on June 14, 1958. He taught mathematics at Niagara Falls High School until his retirement. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley.
