RAYMONDVILLE– Graveside services for 84 year old Charley A. Lewey, of the St. Regis Nursing Home and formerly of 444 Joy Road, Raymondville, will be held in the Spring in the East Plains Cemetery in Pewamo, Michigan. Mr. Lewey passed away Friday afternoon at the nursing home. Mr. Lewey is survived by a son Charley Ray of Raymondville and his daughters Mrs. Ron Donna Berry, Huntsville, Alabama and Mrs. Tracy Pam Lain, Brookfield, Missouri and Shirley Scott. He has ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Cindy Phillips and a sister Vera Childers. Born in Brilliant, Alabama on May 26, 1925 to the late Walter and Chessie Mae Beauchamp Lewey, he married MaryLou Keifer on June 8, 1946. She passed away in June of 1997. He worked as an ironworker for Local 440 of Hogansburg and Utica. He was a member of the Local 440 Ironworkers Union, the Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime Mason and member of the Norfolk American Legion. He was a past member of the Shriners and enjoyed woodcarving. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII..
