Obituary of Eddie K. Jones

Norfolk-- Funeral Services for 84 year old Eddie K. Jones, of 108 North Main Street, Norwood, will be held Monday at 11 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk with Pastor Judith VanKennen, Pastor of the Emanual Congregational Church in Massena presiding. Burial will be in the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Calling Hours will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk. Mr. Jones passed away Thursday morning at his home while he was under the care of his caregiver and granddaghter Kimberly Bullock. Survivors-- Sons-- Cyrus and Renee Jones, Norfolk; John and Carolyn Jones, Helena; Marvin Jones, Norwood; Daughters-- Mrs. Kaythryn McGregor, Mississippi, Edria Jones and her companion Timothy Shantie, Norwood; 15 Grandchildren and 27 Great-Grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his wife Ianthia Jones on October 21, 2007, his daughter Victoria LaComb, and his son-in-law Paul McGregor. Born in Canton on April 1, 1924 to Kenyon C. and Katherine Locey Jones, he married Ianthia Monroe on January 19, 1946. He worked at General Motors Powertrain as a welder until his retirement in 1980. He was a proud member of the Norfolk Lions Club, the Norfolk American Legion, Massena Amvets, Massena VFW, the Disabled American Veteran's Assoc., he was a 49 year member of the Mason's, a member of the Local UAW, the "What" Club, and the Norfolk Investment Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, receiving a Purple Heart. Memorial Donations can be made to the Norfolk Lions Club or to the Disabled American Veteran's Assoc.
