NORWOOD Funeral services for 94 year old Ruby Z. Morgan of the United Helpers Nursing Home, Ogdensburg, and formerly of Norwood, will be held Tuesday at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood at 1 pm with Rev. Harold Wheat, pastor of the Norfolk United Methodist Church presiding. Burial will be held in Riverside cemetery, Norwood. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mrs. Morgan passed away Wednesday evening at the Nursing Home.
Ruby is survived by four sons, Robert and wife, Anne Morgan, West Chazy, Wayne and wife, Barbara, Redwood, Dave and companion, Judy Ingraham, Hannawa Falls, and Richard and wife, Deborah, Norwood; two daughters, Carol Gardner and husband, Harold, Chattahoochee, FL, and Dorothy Kersey, and husband, James, Bristol, FL; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by four brothers, Wilbur, Lawrence, Almond, and Hubert; one sister, Bessie; one granddaughter, Maria; and one grandson, Phillip.
She was born on March 12, 1915, in Fabius, NY, to Mae (Bennett) and Joseph Matson. She attended school there. She married Clyde M. Morgan on April 6, 1931, in Lafayette, NY. He predeceased her on December 3, 1991. Ruby was a homemaker, wife, mother, and friend to many as she was raising her family. In later years she served as a Nursing Aid at Highland Nursing Home, Massena. This career ended when her skills were needed at home with her ailing husband and life-long companion of 60 years.
