NORWOOD– Funeral services with Military Honors for 76 year old Edward Nelson Murcray Sr., of 2835 County Route 47 Norwood will be held Friday at 10 am at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood with Rev. Lee Sweeney Pastor of the Knapps Station Community Church presiding. Burial will take place in Brookdale Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Wednesday from 7-9, and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Edward is survived by his wife Ruth, his two sons, Edward Jr., Norwood and Michael, Johnstown, his four daughters, Mrs. Lynn Lloyd Howe, Hannawa Falls, Mrs. Stanley Marie Scheening, Norwood, Mrs John Sheryl Ceresoli, Macomb and Vicky Murcray, Lewis, NY. His two sisters, Beverly Newvine, Folkston,GA, and Shirley Rookey, Potsdam. His ten grandchildren, Jesse Howe, Joanne Howe, Sara Murcray, Christy Scheening, Shannon Scheening, Heather White, Andrew White, Hanna Ceresoli, Kyle Ceresoli, and Christopher Murcray. His four great-grandchildren Karli Bowen, Lawrence Milsap, Gabriella Milsap, and Jazmyn Villnave. He was pre-deceased by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Alfred Egolf, his brother Francis, his sister Carol Jane Wood and his grandson Lloyd Howe III. Born in Burke, NY on November 20, 1932, the son of the late Benjamin and Evelyn Shantie Murcray. He married Ruth Hennigan on November 18, 1955. Edward was in the Army from January 17, 1952 to December 18, 1953. He was a truck driver for Allstates Asphalt, retiring in 2005. He previously worked for the St. Lawrence Seaway and drove truck for numerous business. He was a communicate of the Knapps Station Community Church and he was a life member of the Norfolk American Legion, and the VFW in Brasher. He enjoyed calling bingo, coffee at McDonalds, trains, playing pool, and loved spending time with his family.
