COLTON– Funeral services for 32 year old Marshall S. Matthie, of 166 Number Nine Road, Colton, will be held Saturday at 10 am at the Stark Cemetery in South Colton with Pastor Pat Lennox, of the Colton United Methodist Church presiding. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm. Mr. Matthie passed away Wednesday afternoon at his home with his family at his side. Marshall is survived by his wife, Jamie and his three year old daughter Emma, his parents, David and Wanetta Matthie, South Colton, his two sisters, Jane and Derrick Gravlin and Monica and Richard Trahan, both of South Colton, his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Betty Flanagan, West Pierrepont, his mother and father in-law, Jeffery and Denise Scovil, Colton, a sister-in-law Carrie and Joseph Kraszewski, Colton, his nephews, PFC Alek Gravlin, Mica Gravlin, Torin Gravlin, Daven Gravlin, Tyler Trahan, Treton Trahan, and Joseph Kraszewski and a niece Trinity Trahan. He is also survived by Roger and Leota Scovil and Donna Green. Marshall was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents Jean and Clarence Matthie and a nephew Trevor Trahan. Born on April 3, 1977 in Potsdam to David and Wanetta Flanagan Matthie, he married Jamie L. Scovil on May 8, 2004. He worked for Jeffords Steel in Potsdam as a welder for eight years. He was a member of the Sno-Skippers snowmobile club and was an active outdoorsman, enjoying four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, sugaring, and being with his family and friends.
