NORFOLK Memorial services for 71 year old Edith L. Mills, of 6 ½ South Main Street, Norfolk, will be held at a later date at the Norfolk Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Brendon Hardy, presiding. There will be no calling hours. Mrs. Mills passed away late Saturday evening at the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg.
She is survived by her three step-sons, David and Elizabeth, Lebanon, NJ; Barry and Joyce, Damascus, MD and Jeff and Hazel of Mertztown, PA.; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Born in Jersey City, NJ on September 8, 1938 to Ludwig and Hedwig Mutler Engelen, she graduated from Ridgewood High School in New Jersey in 1956, from Columbia University with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1960, from New York University in 1963 with a M.A. in Education Psychology and from Rutgers University in 1969 with a masters degree in Library Science. She married David Russell Mills on September 5, 1976. She worked at the Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in New York, NY and as a research Librarian at Schering Corp, Bloomfield, NJ. She retired from work as a Physical Therapist for various St. Lawrence County organizations. She was involved with the American Physical Therapy Assoc. and enjoyed horses, especially Arabian Horses, in which they trained and showed, both locally and in Ontario.
