NORFOLK - Funeral services for 75 year old Alton "Peter" Darabon of 12 West Main Street, Norfolk; will be held Friday at 10 AM at the Church of the Visitation in Norfolk with Rev. Andrew Amyot, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk. Friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9.Mr. Darabon died Wednesday evening at his home.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband; Jodi and Thomas Todd of Oro Valley, Arizona; a son and his wife; Peter and Bobbi Jo Darabon of Norfolk; four grandchildren; Erika and Allison Todd and Sarah and Natalie Darabon. He is also survived by three sisters; Ethel Darabon,Goldie Zappia, and Irene Southworth;all of Norfolk. He was pre-deceased by a brother Stephen and by two sisters; Mary Harris and Lorretta Radel.
Born in Norfolk on February 17, 1934; son of Stephen and Bernadine Robinson, he was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Town of Norfolk for 22 years. Prior to that, he worked at the Potsdam Paper Mill.He was a communicant of the Church of the Visitation, a member of the Norfolk American Legion, a 50 year member of the Norfolk Fire Department and he was a Marine Corps Veteran.
