MASSENA– Graveside services for 89 year old Margaret E. Helmase, of 2 Evergreen Ave, Massena, will be held Monday at the convienence of the family in Visitation cemetery, Norfolk, with Rev. Andrew Amyot, pastor of St. Raymonds Church, presiding. There will be no calling hours. A memorial mass will be announced at a later date. Mrs. Helmase passed away Friday morning. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norfolk. Mrs. Helmase is survived by a son Stephen and Diane Helmase, Waddington, her daughter Linda A. Helmase, Raymondville, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Helmase, Tucker, GA., five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Joseph A. Bregg, Norwood, Francis Bregg, Norfolk, Paul John Bregg, Gansevoort, NY , her sister Elsie Mastin, Newcastle, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sons John and Larry, a grandson Mark Helmase, and her sisters Olga Perocchi and Sylvia Salomon. Born in Massena, NY on July 10, 1920 to the late Joseph and Margaret Ziegler Bregg, she married Russell Jones in 1941. He passed away also in 1941. She later married Stephen Helmase on July 15, 1943. He passed away on September 30, 1992. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family, faith and gardening. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Lawrence Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
