COLTON - Memorial services for 95 year old Virginia E. McEwen, a resident of the Canton United Helpers Nursing Home and formerly of Colton; will be held Tuesday 11 AM at the Zion Episcopal Church in Colton with Deacon Pat Lavine and Father Curtis Denny officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Mound Cemetery in Colton. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Colton.Mrs. McEwen died Wednesday at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Surviving are 4 nieces: Mrs. Robert Catherine Amiss; Manchester,Indiana ; Mrs. Edward Jane Montrois,Sackets Harbor; Mrs. Ronald Sally Gilmore, Colton;Mrs. Robert Beverly Campbell, Norwood and a nephew, Thomas and Cathy Doray of Syracuse. She is also survived by cousins. She is pre-deceased by 2 brothers; George and Howard Doray and by a siter Margaret Leigh Manuel. Born in Lake Placid,New York; daughter of Eugene and Daisy MacMillan Doray, she married Everett "Nick" McEwen February 14,1938 at St. Eustace Episcopal Church in Lake Placid. Mr. McEwen died in May 1977. She was a school teacher in the Colton School District retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Zion Episcopal Church in Colton.
