NORWOOD– Funeral Services for 73 year old Paul M. Pettys, 65 Park Street, Norwood, will be held Thursday at 6 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood, with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow, pastor of St. Andrews Church, Norwood, presiding. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3 pm until the time of the funeral. Bagpipes will be played by Pat Matthews along with honors from the Norwood Fire Dept. and Norwood Brass Fireman. Mr. Pettys passed away on Sunday morning at his home. Paul is survived by his wife, Marlene, Norwood and his two daughters, Shelly Kriete, Malta, NY and Allison Pettys, Saranac Lake. He is also survived by his step-sons Rodney and Barb Murray, NJ; David Murray, Massena ; Kevin Murray, Massena; a step-daughter Robin and Kevin Russell, Moira; a sister Carolyn Matson, Norwood and two grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 6 step great-granddaughters. He was pre-deceased by a brother Galand W. Pettys and a sister Maryetta Pettys. Born in Gouverneaur on September 4, 1935 to the late Garold and Edith Munson Pettys, he graduated from NNCS in 1953. He married Marlene Worley on April 2, 1983. He operated Pauls Mobil in Norwood for many years and retired from NNCS as a custodian in 2004. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Norwood and the Norwood Fire Department, where he served as chief and Asst. Chief. He was also a member of the Norwood Brass Fireman and loved his model trains and cigars.
