NORWOOD– Funeral Services for 96 year old Bernice E. Regan, of 11 Morgan Street, Norwood, will be held Tuesday at 10 am at St. Andrews Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow, pastor, presiding. Burial will be held in the Calvary Cemetery, Norwood. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4-8 pm at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood. Mrs. Regan passed away early Friday morning at home. Bernice is survived by her four sons, Gary and Linda of Bernardston, Mass., Ronald and Kathy of Bemus Point, NY, Philip and Linda of Norwood , Stephen and Jerrine of Banner Elk, NC and a daughter Norma and George Murray of Westford, Mass. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter Mary Edith and her brothers John Breaky, Ivan Breaky and Hadwin Breaky. Born in Rensselaer Falls on August 22, 1912 to the late Thomas and Sarah Wheater Breaky, she married Emmett W. Regan on July 3, 1940. Emmett passed away on May 19, 1991. She started teaching in a one room schoolhouse and retired from teaching Special Education at Norwood-Norfolk Central School in 1976. She was a member of St. Andrews Church in Norwood where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters of America, where she served as Regent. She was also a member of the NYS Retired Teachers Assoc and the Norwood American Legion Aux. She was an avid bowler for over 40 years. Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care or to St. Andrews Church in Norwood. Online condolences can be shared with the family at www.buckfuneralhome.com.
