NORWOOD—A Mass of Christian Burial for 72 year old Patricia A. Gilbert, a resident of 1 Railroad Ave, Norwood, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew's Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will follow the services at the Notre Dame Cemetery in Ogdensburg. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Mrs. Gilbert passed away suddenly at her home on Thursday, July 14, 2016. Patricia is survived by her three sons, Brian and Debbie Gilbert, Brewerton; Kevin and Kim Gilbert, Hannawa Falls; Jason and Kristen Gilbert, Endwell, NY; her six grandchildren, Ashley Bennett, Bethany, Jordan, David, Madison and Alexander "AJ" Gilbert. Patricia is also survived by her sister, Geraldine Grady, Norwood; her three brothers, John and Kathy Grady, Norwood; Douglas (Bill) Grady, Norwood; Robert and Mary Grady, Ogdensburg; a sister-in-law, Anne Gilbert as well as her nieces and nephews; Tricia Burr, Stephanie Muller, Danielle Francis, Jessica Grady, Richard (RJ) Grady, Andrew Grady and Megan Grady. Patricia was pre-deceased by her parents, a sister, Jean Francis Grady in 1947 and a brother-in-law, Richard Gilbert. Born in Potsdam, NY on September 9, 1943 to the late Douglas and Beverley Bowhall Grady, Pat graduated from NNCS in 1961 and completed her nurses training at the A. Barton Hepburn Hospital in Ogdensburg in 1964. She married Albert A. Gilbert Jr. on December 10, 1966. He passed away on August 24, 1981. Pat was a nurse for over 50+ years, working at the Claxton-Hepburn Hospital, Camp Portaferry, the Norwood-Norfolk Central School and most recently, Health Services of Northern New York. Pat was a member of St. Andrew's Church and a devoted Catholic. She served on the Parish Council, was active with the Catholic Daughters and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Pat was a member of the Red Hatters and the Norwood Rescue Squad. She was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, working at the Local and District Levels and again helping out with Camp Portaferry. In her spare time, Pat enjoyed bowling, shopping, dining out and spending time with her family and friends and an occasional camping trip.
