COLTON—A Mass of Christian Burial for 73 year old John R. Watson, a resident of the Maplewood Campus, Canton and formerly of Colton, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Colton with Rev. Howard Venette presiding. Burial will be held in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in the spring. Family and friends may call at the Buck Funeral Home in Colton on Friday from 5:30 – 8 p.m. Mr. Watson passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Maplewood Campus. John is survived by his brother, Russell and Carol Lee Watson, Rome, NY; a sister-in-law, Barbara Watson, Colton; his aunt, Elizabeth Sullivan Ford, Canton; one niece, three nephews and several cousins. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Paul on April 8, 2015. Born in Potsdam on July 27, 1942 to the late Llewellyn and Mary Sullivan Watson, John graduated from Colton-Pierrepont Central School in 1963. He was a handyman, working for many local people in town as well as working at the South Colton Community Center. He was a past member of the Potsdam K of C and truly enjoyed helping other people as much as he could. Memorial Donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice in John’s memory.
