Theodore L. "Ted" Fetterly Obituary
NORFOLK - A Celebration of Life for Theodore L. "Ted" Fetterly, 82, a resident of 34 West Main Street, Norfolk, will be held at the Gandy Dancer's Rest, 49 Mechanic St, Norwood, NY on Sunday, July 19 at 2:00 pm. Ted passed away on Father's Day, June 21, 2026, at his home with family at his side.
Born in Phoenix, AZ on May 28, 1944, Ted was raised by his mother, Elizabeth Paro and stepfather Clyde Paro after the death of his father (Gordon Fetterly) in 1959. He attended school in Norfolk and after, worked as a laborer/pourer at ALCOA in Massena for 33 1/2 years until his retirement.
A marriage to Nancy Fetterly Plumb was blessed with 3 children, sons, Gordon (Meghan) Fetterly, Brasher Falls, NY and Leslie Fetterly, Norfolk NY; his daughter, Shelly Fetterly, Horseheads NY; grandchildren, Justin, Justina, Scott, Devin, Arrow, Kelsey, Rylee, Jake, and Lilly; a sister, Amanda Jane Hickey, FL.
A second marriage to Shirley Rogers Fetterly ended in divorce. Shirley passed away in 2019.
Ted was pre-deceased by his wife of 23 years, Doris M. Fetterly in July 2019, his parents, and a brother Richard Fetterly.
In his free time, Ted enjoyed hunting, bowling, softball and golf. He was a member of the ALCOA 25-year Club and the Gandy Club.
Ted's son Leslie provided care and comfort to his father in the final days and years of his life. Les' day-to-day companionship allowed Ted to live an independent life in the comfort of his home and have frequent visits with friends where they laughed and shared stories.
