NORWOOD - Graveside services for Alphonso Ross, 77, a resident of 15 Maple Street, Norwood and formerly of Tupper Lake, NY, will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at 10 a.m. in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Tupper Lake. Alphonso passed away on April 28, 2026 at the Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Alphonso is survived by his family and friends within the Sunmount community. Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 21, 1949 to the late William and Esterine Ross, he was a resident of Willowbrook and had spent his last twenty years at 61 Haymeadow Road, Tupper Lake and 15 Maple Street, Norwood.

Alphonso was a quiet and friendly man with a bright disposition and a smile that would warm your heart. In his later years, he enjoyed being outside listening to wildlife, feeling the breeze and relaxing next to the water near his home. Alphonso also adored his shopping trips with his peers and staff from Maple St. Alphonso also had a love for animals. He took pride in delivering items for donation to the SPCA and adored spending time with the animals while he was there. He was treasured by all who had the pleasure of caring for him throughout his time with Sunmount.
